Places To See

Iznájar Spain is on the edges of Córdoba, Granada and Málaga provinces making the whole of Andalucia within easy reach for a wonderful Iznájar holiday.

We are close to the Sierra Subbética mountain villages of Iznájar, Rute, Lucena, Cabra, Priego de Córdoba, Zuheros, Luque, Doña Mencía to name just a few, throughout which you can drive, bicycle, walk or motorcycle.

In May we have our annual Flower Festival and in summer months there is a new sailing school on the lake where you can hire boats and canoes. In summer you can also have great fun on the pedaloes

It is impossible not to be awed by Iznájar and these amazing mountain villages – their far reaching and exquisitely beautiful carpet of silver olive trees, rolling away as far as the eye can see, year after year providing the world with olives, and olive oil are literally breathtaking.

NORTHERN CÓRDOBA

To the north west of Córdoba province we find several mountain ranges including the Parque Natural Sierra Norte, home to breathtakingly jagged rock formations and thousands of hectares of cork forests, a lesser but nevertheless essential industry to Southern Spain. Winding mountain roads lead the wanderer unknowingly on, until a chance encounter with a precariously laden cork lorry, a mass of circling of vultures, a road block of wild boar, an extraordinary sunset, becomes a life-long memory etched into our “awesome sights” file.

VIA VERDE

The Via Verde runs throughout Córdoba and Andalucia – it was the original Olive Trail train route and makes for wonderful walks, riding routes or cycle trails – ask us for our maps and Walking Guide Books to make the most of your days out.

EL TORCAL

El Torcal, a unique Jurassic limestone formation, is one of the most dramatic examples of rock erosion – it’s an absolute MUST for walkers.
